08/21-24/2025 Binghamton Chapter Summer Campout – ADK Loj Wilderness Campgroound

To All Chapter Members, The Binghamton Chapter is planning a summer campout at the Wilderness Campground at Heart Lake (Lake Placid) on Aug 21-24.  The chapter has reserved campsites 14, 15 and lean-to 4.  The sites are all next to each other.

The plan is to arrive Thursday, Aug 21st after 2PM and Depart Sunday morning, Aug 24th.  On Friday and Saturday, we will have a longer (level 3) hike to a high peak such as Colden, or Algonquin Mtns.  We will also have shorter (level 1, 2) hike options, such as Phelps Mtn, Avalanche Lake or a sunset hike to Mt Jo.  We can gather around the campfire or go to a brewpub in Lake placid in the evenings.

The Wilderness Campground at Heart Lake is tent camping only, with a limit of 6 people and three tents per each of our two campsites.  The lean-to site can also accommodate about 4 people.  We will have room at the Wilderness Campground for about 10-14 people, depending on the group tenting plan.  FAQ’s can be found at https://adk.org/lodging-and-camping-information/ The cost is $45 per person.  Please contact me by email or at 607-821-8564 if you would like to attend or if you have any questions.

You can still attend this event even if you are not into tent camping.  Just make your own reservation at any of the LOJ bunk and private room accommodations at https://adk.org/locations/or at any of the other lodging options in and around Lake Placid.
