New ADK Leader Certification Requirements Implementation

Earlier this spring, 2023, the ADK board of directors voted unanimously to adopt an Outing and Leader’s Guide that establishes organization-wide protocols that will create safer and more enjoyable experiences for our participants. This is the result of a robust year-long process led by the Advisory Council’s Outings and Meetings Committee.

10/8/2024 Monthly Chapter Meeting – Chenango Town Hall.

Join us for our October monthly meeting 7-9PM. The location will be The Chenango Town Hall. 1529 NY-12, Binghamton, NY 13901. There will be no September monthly meeting.

10/19/2024 Broome County Riverbank Cleanup – Otsiningo Park.

Save the Date!  Saturday, October 19th, 9 am to Noon at Otsiningo Park.  Join your fellow chapter members in a great county sponsored event that helps the environment and cleans up the Susquehanna watershed.  Last year 25 teams, 256 people from various organizations across the area,  picked up 4,682 lbs or 2.4 tons of trash. 10/26/2024 Trail Work at Jenksville State Forest – Newark Valley.

Calling all nature lovers and trail enthusiasts!  Attend an opportunity to provide stewardship and give back to our state forests by participating in a trail work day.  We will start from the Shirley Road Parking Area (42.275171, -76.203046) at 9AM – 1PM. We’ll be tackling tasks like clearing debris, repairing trails, and improving access for hikers, bikers, and equestrians. No experience necessary – just a willingness to help preserve our natural spaces. Call Cindy at 607-821-9100 for more information.

Bring: Sturdy footwear, Work gloves, Loppers or pruners, Water, Snacks.
